Matt Atteberry, LSCSW, Executive Director – began working at Labette Center as an outpatient therapist in 1990, concentrating on the teenage population. Atteberry holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kansas State University, a master’s in social work from the University of Kansas, post-graduate work in child and adolescent development, as well as successful completion of the Marriage and Family Therapy program from the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry.  Atteberry spent time in Seattle, WA prior to accepting the position at Labette Center, where he worked in a program that provided services and advocacy to teenage prostitutes and homeless youth. Atteberry took over as LCMHS’s Director of Children’s Services in 1995, a position he held until 2002 when he was named Labette Center’s Executive Director. Atteberry is a member of the Association of Community Mental Health Centers of Kansas and was elected to their executive board in 2006. In 2022 he began serving as the President. Atteberry became a certified instructor for Mental Health First Aid in March of 2011, is a member of the Parsons Rotary Club International and is a graduate of Leadership Parsons. Since 1990, Atteberry and his wife have called Parsons, Kansas home. In addition he has a son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren that he adores.
