Labette Center offers a variety of education and outreach services to individuals in the community. Check out information on Mental Health First Aid, QPR, and ASIST as well as finding out how to request a speaker for your organization, company or group.
QPR: Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) is a suicide prevention training that teaches individuals how to recognize the warning signs of suicide crisis and how to intervene effectively. This course is provided in a short 1–2-hour training. QPR is an evidence-based program. For more information on QPR click here.
MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID: Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an interactive public education program that is designed to provide individuals how to identify, understand and respond to signs of a mental illness and/or substance use disorder. It is an internationally recognized program that follows evidence-based practices and fidelity standards. This one-day course is provided in a variety of formats. ASIST: A two day in person workshop that provides participants with the tools to skills and readiness to reach in and start a conversation with a person that may have thoughts of suicide. ASIST is an evidence-based practice that follows fidelity standards. For more information click here.
