Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an interactive public education program. Through the course, individuals are able to learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. Labette Center is proud to be able to provide both the adult, youth versions and teen versions of this course to our community.
Mental Health First Aid is an internationally recognized program that originated in Australia and is currently taught in more than 35 countries world wide. The program follows evidence based fidelity standards. Continuing education units are available with certification for many licensure and certification requirements.
Many of the Mental Health First Aid programs are available in three different delivery methods, fully in person, blended in person and blended virtual.

Registration for the Mental Health First Aid course offered by Labette Center is $50.00 per person. (This course is valued at $170.00 per participant and Labette Center is pleased to be able to offer it at the reduced fee amount.) Currently fees are being waived for individuals who reside in or work in Labette County through the use of grant funding and other funding sources. Private courses are available upon request with a minimum of 10 participants. There may also be opportunities to reduce the fee for individuals who live in Kansas. Please contact our office to find out more about these opportunities. To complete registration please complete the form and submit registration fee (if applicable). You will be contacted with more information regarding the course once both the form and fee have been received. Please be aware that individuals who submit registration over the weekend or after hours will not receive the information until the next business day. **Registration for courses offered will close two days prior to the training date listed, or when the course has reached the maximum course size (30 participants), whichever comes first.
*Beginning November 8th, 2024 all virtual blended courses will be delivered using Zoom.
