Matt Atteberry, LSCSW, Executive Director - was originally hired at LCMHS as an outpatient therapist in 1990, concentrating on the teenage population. With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kansas State University, a Master's in Social Work from the University of Kansas, and post-graduate work in child and adolescent development, as well as successful completion of the Marriage and Family Therapy program from the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry, Atteberry worked in Seattle prior to accepting the position at LCMHS. In Seattle, he worked in a program that provided services and advocacy to teenage prostitutes and homeless youth. Atteberry took over as LCMHS's Director of Children's Services in 1995, a position he held until 2002 when he was named LCMHS's Executive Director. An active member of the National Association of Social Workers. Atteberry is also a member of the Association of Community Mental Health Centers of Kansas, and was elected to their executive board in 2006 and in 2022 he began serving as the President. Atteberry became a certified instructor for Mental Health First Aid in March of 2011. Since 1990, Atteberry and his wife, Pam, have called Parsons, Kansas home, and he currently serves as the Past President of the Parsons Rotary Club International, as well as serving on the board of several community agencies. He also frequently volunteers in various youth service organizations and is a graduate of Leadership Parsons.
